SABOT SCHOOL DIVERSITY STATEMENT
The variety of experiences and perspectives provided by this environment is central to our educational approach. Our emphasis on co-construction – an environment where everyone teaches and everyone learns – is strengthened by a community that includes diversity of race, ethnicity, culture, socioeconomic status, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, family structure, religion, national origin, physical ability, learning style, political affiliation, and life experience, among others.
We honor each student for their individual identities as well as their abilities, interests, ideas, and stages of development. Our curriculum and learning experiences include varied perspectives and contexts, and incorporate underrepresented voices. We strive to provide a safe, supported space for students and teachers to bring their authentic self each and every day. We aspire to be a community where all students, their families, and educators are embraced and feel a sense of belonging.
This work is an ongoing journey of listening, learning, and growing.
